Tuesday was a much more successful reading day than Monday! I had a busy and extremely stressful day at work so it was lovely to come home and know that I had an evening of reading relaxation in front of me. I finished Rules of Civility by about 9pm, which left me with the luxury of choosing a new book (The Innocents by Francesca Segal) and properly settling in to it before going to bed. I didn't watch any TV all evening, which has actually made a very refreshing change - I could get used to this! My husband is currently in the middle of the Hunger Games books and can't put them down, so we had a bit of a joint reading session curled up on the sofa.
I am behind on writing reviews, but then that is to be expected! This week is all about reading, I'll catch up with reviews at the weekend.
Day: Tuesday 14th May 2013
Time Spent Reading: 1 hour and 50 minutes
Books Read: I'm on my third
Books Finished: 2
I'm so glad you got a proper evening of reading! My 2nd day was okay, although I was a bit tired for no obvious reason. But I did read more than the day before :)
ReplyDeleteOh oh, I am very curious to read your thoughts on The Innocents. The more time passes, the more confused/unsure I get about this book. Still, it was a very fast read for me, so a good choice for the readathon. (Also that cover looks so much better than the cover of my copy - not that it would likely have played any part regarding the contents of the book, ofc...)
My boyfriend is reading one of Song of Ice and Fire books right now (apparently he even took it to work with him today so I can't check which one :o), so we have pretty much the same sync-reading going on in the evenings. I kind of really enjoy it (he does read some, but needs a bit of "kick-in-the-behind" before he delves into a book. Needless to say I am more than happy to provide those kicks :)).
I think I enjoyed The Innocents despite not having read The Age of Innocence - I hope you enjoy it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a successful day! And two books completed too, wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLike Riv, I'm also interested to see how you find The Innocents. I was meant to be reading it soon but I've passed it on to my Mum to read first because it really isn't grabbing me. The cover you have is so nice! I've never understood why they change covers around :/
I hope you have a good day today too.
Wooooah, you have finished 2 books?! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to get behind on reviews, but heyyyy, that's all part of the fun right?! I just... Might need a 'Bout of Reviews' week next week to catch up!
Well done on reaching Book 3! Hunger Game is addictive. I think more reading and less TV is always a good thing! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you're doing great! Rules of Civility is one of my absolute favorites, I just adored it when I read it. The UK cover is so fantastic - I don't think I had seen it until now!
