Jane Austen with a touch of sarcastic humor, and a "breaking of the 4th wall" from author to reader. This is the best place to start with Austen (well, you could also read her juvenilia if you want... it is more silly than anything, but entertaining nonetheless), and it's definitely a fun read.

Mica
Online Dating Plenty of Fish ReviewAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00118707550077647899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6637440206562155541.post-14616863042986032952013-12-03T09:49:26.850+00:002013-12-03T09:49:26.850+00:00Great writing, great story, great characters...com...Great writing, great story, great characters...come to Northanger Abbey with a sense of humor and you will not be disappointed.

(Jeremy Bell)Irene Jenningshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03603959953431879572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6637440206562155541.post-39811784823818757182013-08-25T19:49:00.687+01:002013-08-25T19:49:00.687+01:00I'm with you. Henry Tilney is delightful and charming, which so many of Austen's heroes are not quite, and I love how Catherine grows up over the course of the book. Plus Austen's poking fun at the gothic novel genre delights me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6637440206562155541.post-20317755987183475972013-08-22T18:08:28.365+01:002013-08-22T18:08:28.365+01:00I never understood why this one is not seen as qui...I never understood why this one is not seen as quite on par with Austen's others.
